Im in a battle with my mum, She says there are states which include Puerto Rico and something else. Is this true???

Tell her shes thinking of a deck of cards. There have only been states since the inclusion of Alaska and Hawaii in .brbrPuerto Rico and others are commonwealths, but have not achieved statehood. Neither is Washington, D.C. a state.
